Ben Flajnik (pronounced Flannick), who was from Ashley Hebert’s season, knew that he was going to find a wife coming back to the Bachelor. Millions of viewers knew Ben from his heartfelt proposal that was rejected by Ashley Hebert in the emotional finale of last season's The Bachelorette. Ben is putting all the disappointment and hurt from his proposal behind him in order to move on with his life. He is a phenomenal businessman that is ready to search for the right woman to be his wife and to start a family with.

The 28-year-old, as told, has fallen in love three times (Ashley being the third). He has only proposed once; that one failed proposal won't stop him from trying again. Ben is confident that he can find love with one of the 25 woman this season.

Ben has an easy going charm and sense of humor that makes him so popular and relatable to viewers. He is part of a very close knit family, including his mother and sister. Ben’s father, Joseph, with whom Ben was best friends with, died almost four years ago. He says that his father was always supportive, which personifies the kind of husband Ben wants to be.

Ben grew up in Sonoma, California. When he lived in Arizona, he attended the University of Arizona, majoring in music production with a minor in business. He quickly found success in the business world. He worked in Internet advertising after he graduated college. When his father died in 2007, Ben moved back to California, and he plans to stay in northern California for a while.

 Ben has a lot of hobbies and crafts that he loves doing, such as crab fishing, sailing, golf, skate boarding, surfing, playing piano and singing in a tribute band. He is quite handy with a hammer and saw, and loves fixing and building things, as well as landscaping. The woman that he chooses will also have to share one of his other great loves: his Jack Russell Terrier, Scotch.
